Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 June 2026
Age of Lit is a free browser strategy game. This policy explains what information we collect when you play, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep this short and only collect what the game needs to sign you in and save your progress.
Who we are
Age of Lit ("we", "us", "the game") is the operator of this website and game. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at tomnewms@gmail.com.
Information we collect
We collect only what is needed to run your account and the game:
- Account details. When you create an account we store your email address and the player name you choose. Your password is handled and stored in hashed form by our authentication provider (Supabase) — we never see or store it in plain text.
- Google sign-in (optional). If you choose "Continue with Google", Google shares your name, email address, and profile photo with us so we can create and identify your account. We do not receive your Google password.
- Saved games. When you save a game, we store that game state (your map, units, and progress) linked to your account so you can load it later.
- Session data. To keep you signed in, a session token is stored in your browser's local storage. It stays on your device and is not used for advertising or tracking.
We do not run third-party advertising, sell your data, or use analytics or tracking cookies to profile you across the web.
How we use your information
- To create your account and sign you in.
- To save and load your games.
- To display your player name and avatar in the game.
- To keep the game secure and prevent abuse.
Where your data is stored
We rely on a small number of trusted service providers to operate the game. They process your data on our behalf:
- Supabase — authentication and database (your account and saved games).
- Google — sign-in, only if you choose "Continue with Google".
- Vercel — website hosting and delivery.
These providers may process and store data on servers located outside your country.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and saved games for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual saved games from the in-game Load Game screen at any time. If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove your account and associated saved games.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Email tomnewms@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing, or to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Children
Age of Lit is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be highlighted in the game or by email where appropriate.
