These terms are the agreement between you and Age of Lit for using the game. By creating an account or playing, you agree to them. Please read them — they are written to be plain and short.
Who can play
You must be at least 13 years old to use Age of Lit. By playing, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you give us when creating an account is accurate.
Your account
You are responsible for activity that happens under your account and for keeping your login details secure. Let us know promptly at tomnewms@gmail.com if you believe your account has been used without your permission. We are not liable for losses arising from someone else using your account because you failed to keep your credentials safe.
Using the game
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to play Age of Lit for your own enjoyment. In return, you agree not to:
- break the law or infringe anyone's rights while using the game;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the game, other players' accounts, or our systems;
- interfere with, disrupt, overload, or attack the game or its infrastructure, including through cheating, exploits, bots, or scraping;
- reverse engineer, copy, resell, or commercially exploit the game except as permitted by law; or
- choose a player name that is offensive, impersonates someone else, or infringes a trademark.
Intellectual property
The game, its code, and its original artwork belong to us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Age of Lit is a non-commercial hobby project inspired by the strategy genre and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any other game or its publishers. Some 3D assets are used under open licenses (such as CC0) credited within the project.
Availability and changes
Age of Lit is provided free of charge, and we may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features — or the whole game — at any time without notice. We may also update these terms; when we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and continuing to play means you accept the updated terms.
No warranty
The game is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the game will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that saved games will always be preserved. Keep this in mind — it's a game.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data or saved games, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the game. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law that cannot legally be excluded.
Termination
You may stop playing and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms or use the game in a way that harms other players or our systems.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.
